Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 9/25/09 re: Jesse Helms quote Don't confuse coincidence with intent as this quote seems to. Science teaches us that just because B always occurs after A does not mean that A causes B. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 9/18/09 re: Lysander Spooner quote Waffler has said it well... 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 8/19/09 re: Ivan Illich quote Yup, typically radical right wing plan, keep the populated uneducated at any cost... serfdom forever! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 8/14/09 re: Jack Hugh quote As is typical, Cato has it backwards... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 8/7/09 re: H. L. Mencken quote To agree with this one is to see only the bad in the world with no hope of good... reveals a lot about who people are at their core. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 8/6/09 re: J. P. Morgan quote He may speak for himself, but not for all. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/29/09 re: Michael Gartner quote Sadly, this appears to be true. And yet another demonstration of the inability of many to read... the quote states "handguns" not "guns". 3 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/29/09 re: Marcus Tullius Cicero quote It is yet to be shown if we will have survived the treason that was the admin of King George W & his court of jesters. It is fascinating that the only folks I know who live in McMansions are hyper conservatives who think only of themselves and not a bit of society. It is a pity that so many posters here do not know the difference between a moral & ethical stance that cares about the less fortunate in life and socialism... yet another indictment of their narrow mindedness & lack of clarity of analytic thought. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/26/09 re: Walter Lippmann quote The laws and declarations of the "rights" of people are the making of mankind, just as is the concept we call "God". Jesus was a man killed by mankind for religious and political reasons... and news flash here, he has nothing to do with the document in question. 1 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/25/09 re: John Locke quote Thankfully our founders understood that there is much more to preserve than material things... though perhaps that had something to do with the fact that many of them were filthy rich: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wealthy_historical_figures_2008 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/23/09 re: Mark Twain quote Evidence, those who believe in miracles don't need no stink'n evidence... they just believe and that is enough for them (and they believe that should be enough for everyone else too). Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/22/09 re: U.S. Supreme Court quote (Past) Time to shut down those aspects of war making that we have seen congress & the executive abdicate to big business! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/22/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote It is not government whom we must fear in these matters, but big business! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/1/09 re: Felix Frankfurter quote All human beings deserve their human rights, no matter how we feel about them as individuals, for to do otherwise is for us to be no more than a pack of animals. 12Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/27/09 re: Justice Stephen J. Field quote The rich are in it for no one but themselves, abusing and taking advantage of all others for their own personal gain. It is the underdogs, the poor who need the extra measure of protection not the rich, for the rich would not be rich but for the advanage they take of others (in one form or another). Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/8/09 re: Justice Hugo L. Black quote Expresses the views put forth by the Grand Olde Partypoopers very well... at least there are some organizations (such as the ACLU) which understand that sentiments such as these are ill directed... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/22/09 re: Adam Smith quote A great argument for a progressive tax and assistance for those on the bottom of the ladder... as giving them a helping hand up will allow their natural tendencies to kick in and blossom into productive members of the society. Hopefully there are not too many like those above who vote more than once and simply revert to inappropriate name calling... for such acts reveal them for what they truly are... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/10/09 re: James Otis quote And thus it is time for Norm Coleman to give it up and let the duely elected winner be seated! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/9/09 re: Edmund Burke quote The quote is about much more than debt, it is about the slavery to our material goods, we serving them rather than they serving us. 4Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/30/09 re: Benito Mussolini quote I am amazed at how many rightists do not see the parallel between this man and what King George did to us. It seems clear that most Americans today do not understand the word Fascist. To confuse a centrist leader such as Obama with Fascists such as this and yet not see how the radical right they are longing to put in power is exactly cut from that same Fascist cloth... well, perhaps this is the largest indicator of a failure in our educational and media systems. 15Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/19/09 re: Davy Crockett quote But private charities & business do not provide these at all... its a classic case of longing for the past that never was. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/18/09 re: John Wayne quote The source for this quote is wrong. It is not from John Wayne. If it is from the movie 'Allegheny Uprising' then the source is the writers of that movie. He's an actor, not a writer. The writers were Neil H. Swanson (novel) and P.J. Wolfson (screenplay). Credit where credit is due. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/10/09 re: Ralph Nader quote Corporate socialism is not capitalism. While I agree with little of what Nader has said or done as of late, he is right on this one. Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
