We are one people, and we need to support each other as one people. Personally I am terribly tired of hearing from folks that its a "local problem", which is nothing more than saying "not my problem", which is the antithesis of the sentiment of this very quote. WE must care for ALL of US, for if we don't, then we care not for any of us. 13Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/5/11 re: Bernhard Haisch quote Would that the USA (as exemplified by Anonymous) cared more about results (such as those delivered by the Obama administration) rather than meaningless empty shows (such as those delivered by the administration of King George W)... Anonymous of the USA shows us exactly why the USA is not performing as well as other nations in the world: concern for form over content! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/4/11 re: Unknown quote These daily emails have so jumped the shark... now we have "quotes" from "unknown" that are just rambling conspiracy rants... 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/2/11 re: New York Times quote Yup, lets replace it w/ a tax on cars: your first is free, the second is 50% of its price and any after that are 100% of their price. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/2/11 re: Dr. Ron Paul quote Yup, and the "leader" who did this the most is King George W, leaving the mess for others to clean-up. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 5/2/11 re: Dr. Ron Paul quote And those who think everything is simple and not interrelated will always fail to see how these goals and tasks are indeed often interrelated. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/29/11 re: Paul Laxalt quote The enforcement of the law of the land is not making a joke... and today's IRS is actually quite easy to interact with and an organization with a very difficult job which does it well... and thus that we can be proud of. I suspect that like the rest of today's quotes that this one too comes from the past, a time which these quotes show to be less than the idyllic goal that so many on this site want to return to. Liberty without intellectual honesty is no liberty at all, just another attempt to manipulate by underhanded methodologies. Liberty without intellectual honesty is no liberty at all, just another attempt to manipulate by underhanded methodologies. 16Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/27/11 re: Edward H. Crane quote LOL, what a riot, it seems you can just make this stuff up out of thin air... as this quote is from the founder of the Cato Institute, it can clearly be related to Cato, and to not see that is in synch with the basis of those very views and "analysis" of Cato: based in imagination rather than reality. 2Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/27/11 re: Dr. Ron Paul quote He can't even decide who he's upset with in this quote... either that or he believes that the business oriented lobby is pushing socialism. Seems he just wants to whine in this quote, while offering no constructive statements, hardly the characteristics of a good leader. 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/22/11 re: Richard E. Byrd quote What Byrd is attempting to say is pretty much: "This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. ... Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!" ... I'm sure Mike would agree too. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/21/11 re: Dr. Ron Paul quote It amazes me that fools like this equate balancing the budget by increasing the earnings achieved to deficit spending... hum, seems that they wish for society as a whole to not work harder and excel... they want to turn the government into what they term a "welfare mother"... the truth comes out! It is also amusing (in a sick sort of way) that the cost of cleaning up the mess made by Bush II gets laid on the hands not of the GOP who were in complete control when they made the mess, but rather on those who take the responsibility of cleaning it up. And they do this while still working to make the mess worse, claiming that reduction of taxes will reduce the deficit - they don't even understand the most basic aspects of budgeting! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/21/11 re: David Frum quote What is amazing is that: (1) most people in our prison system did not kill, rob or rape anyone; (2) there are people outside our prison system who seem to think that living within it is like going to a spa. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/21/11 re: Cecil Palmer quote Heaven & Hell are what you make of your time where ever you actually are physically located. The fact that so many today think that we have socialism in the USA is more of a reflection upon their lack of basic education and understanding than on the state of society today. If there is any socialism going on today, it is corporate socialism! 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/20/11 re: Henry George quote To think that such a person is successful only thru their own efforts is to be a fool. Society contributes to such success, and as such progressive tax rates are nothing more than a part of the cost of doing business. To claim otherwise is to claim that the hard worker should get their raw materials for free. Those who make such claims are nothing more than honorary members of the "me generation", thinking they are entitled to take for their personal gain over that of others. 12Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/13/11 re: Helen Hegener quote ... and I'm sure none of those private school or home schooled kids have ever stabbed any other kids either... yeah, right... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 4/8/11 re: Benito Mussolini quote LOL... good one J (who advocates very much for his own style of social engineering). 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/28/11 re: Lew Rockwell quote And by these arguments we must protect the personal right to hold a lynching too... 21Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/28/11 re: Mark Skousen quote The inability of the masses (and more importantly the overlords of big business) have already been demonstrated and prove the need for these basic protections for all of the rest of us... so we can have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/16/11 re: Ronald Reagan quote Having worked in both and knowing many in both, I have seen no difference in the two envrionments. There are good and bad in both, and in roughly the same ratios too. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/11/11 re: Thomas Pownhall quote "Kill baby, kill"... you do realize that is what is being advocated here... no, I suppose you don't... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/4/11 re: Sophocles quote It is sad to see folks like GunnyCee as their fantasy world must bring them much horror... folks like the governor of WI is far from showing honor with their moral and factual dishonesty, and pollute minds of folks such as GunnyCee to the point where they see fraud as truth and honor... it is indeed a very sick world that this has been done to poor GunnyCee. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 3/4/11 re: R. Buckminster Fuller quote It matters not what is being measured (even the worship of pipe dreams such as the fantacy Mike dreams of). In all cases reversal is possible. Happyness, peace, any measure of material wealth, enlightenment, knowledge... all of these can go away.
