Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/27/09 re: Milton Friedman quote Government is "definitely" overgrown. In fact its right out of control. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/26/09 re: Voltaire quote Excellent observation. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/25/09 re: Sir Roy Calne quote Ya I zee. Und vot zen shall be ze "Final Solution"? Und, who vill decide? 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/24/09 re: William Graham Sumner quote Right On Ken. Social Security is the bait you take in order to be robbed blind for the rest of your life...or until you're old enough to starve to death on Social Security. It really is as close as you can get to condemning the elderly to a slow painful death but still say you're "helping them". What a complete crock the whole thing really is. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/23/09 re: André Thirion quote We have to rid ourselves of "ism's". All of them! 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/23/09 re: William Graham Sumner quote Freedom and responsibility should be not only universal...but universally respected. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/22/09 re: Charles S. Maier quote Agreed RBE, but I believe we have had "economic fascism" for a long time. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/22/09 re: Franklin D. Roosevelt quote RBE....what capitalism? We've never seen true free market capitalism...just fascism. Or if you like, Corporatism, which can only exist under the guiding hand of a socialist government. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/22/09 re: Franklin D. Roosevelt quote Looking back we can see the stepping stones that have brought America to the deplorable politics and policies of the day... 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/22/09 re: Benito Mussolini quote Fascist Dictator. No wonder the Italian people hung him from a meat hook. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Sir Roy Calne quote Waffler are you suggesting the human population should be controlled as the deer population is controlled? Sure seems like it. You were born 90 years too late and on the wrong side of the ocean. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Cornelius Tacitus quote Twisted again Waffler. You attended the Hillary Clinton school didn't you? The statement is factual on every level. And the state is all about controlling people to the point of slavery. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: H. L. Mencken quote Waffler...you cast stones and have no backbone of your own to back it up. You are the embodiment of a well trained statist. The rest of us are opposed to leviathan and its sickening creep into every aspect of our lives...our busy industious lives which are very much hampered by the state you so love. And Washington and Jefferson were advocates of a restrained government....the opposite of what you advocate, so there is no comparison there either. When will you make sense? Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Cornelius Tacitus quote This is off topic, but I have to share it. I 1948 cartoon on Freedom in America: http://nationaljuggernaut.blogspot.com/2009/09/this-cartoon-seemed-far-fetched-in-1948.html 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Sir Roy Calne quote The arrogance of anyone who feels they have the right to regulate parenthood is astounding. The cowardice of those who would stand back and allow that sort of regulation is even more astounding. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Jack C. Westman quote So we are, as a general rule going to regulate the laws of nature? We are going to protect children from incompetent parents even before they are shown to be incompetent? And we are going to do this through a bureaucracy? The entire notion is absurd in the sense that there has never been anything in history more incompetent than a government bureaucracy. Abusing children is already a crime. Unfortunately the breakdown in the system is our "Law" system. If we had an actual "Justice" system the punishment for those "proven" to be incompetent or abusive parents would be such that all would know the consequences of hurting a child. Now how about basic parental discipline of children? The complete lack thereof has provided us with a society without morals...A society on the verge of collapse. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/21/09 re: Cornelius Tacitus quote There are so many laws now that even the Judges don't know half of them. There are so many laws now that we are all technically guilty of something at all times. And that is the goal of a corrupt state, to be able to arrest / detain anyone for any reason at any time. Its all about control, and power over people. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/20/09 re: Harold J. Laski quote Real peace is the absence of aggression, whether on an international scale or localized within a small area. Real peace requires not merely the absence of large-scale military conflicts, but also the absence of aggression in domestic affairs concerning individual citizens. ~ Ben ONeill. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/20/09 re: Hugh LaFollette quote I'll comply to that...right after I register all my guns Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/20/09 re: Chi An quote Thumbs down for the reality of the situation. What many know is that girl babies are being murdered in favor of the "more valuable" boy babies. What this has led to is a population with over two hundred million single young men with no prospect of finding a wife or having a family. The Government there now has a valuable resource...an angry and frustrated army in waiting.... 5 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/20/09 re: Harold J. Laski quote Sadly too many Americans are unaware that the majority of their rights have been moved to the category of priveleges and can be denied at any time by any number of agencies for any number of reasons. So much for Constitutional Government.... 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/19/09 re: H. L. Mencken quote "uniformly opposed to America and American values..." Which are? Democracy? Socialism? American values have been lost for a long time...the above posters just want them back. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/19/09 re: Anthony de Jasay quote It all culminating with Obama...so its all relevant to our time...."now". He's the axe man. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/19/09 re: Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoi quote Joe, Think in terms of community rather than going it alone. Organize. I personally don't think that American soldiers or policemen will fire on American citizens. Especially if they are firing back. But then again....
