Law should be about moral restraint and not about making you do something you would otherwise not do. But that isn't the system we've evolved to is it? We've evolved to a nanny/welfare state where government controls almost you're every move...and its only getting worse. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/22/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote And lets not forget CODEX. The legislation through which the Pharma gang wants to control all herbal and naturopathic medicine as well. They won't be happy until they are able to give or take everything you need. There's no money in healthy people and there's no money in dead people...so they want us all to be ill for our entire existence. And they get away with it because they are one of the biggest lobby's in Congress. Great system! 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/19/09 re: Henry David Thoreau quote And when quiet desperation becomes "nothing left to lose"....What then? We're definately heading in that direction too. The Bankers and Obama won't rest until we're destitute. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/19/09 re: Thomas Henry Huxley quote True. In order to fully understand the depth to which our government isn't "our" government you must completely lose all that the state has taught you. I have difficulty explaining the simplest concepts to those who's indoctrination is so complete that they actually believe income tax money goes to infrastructure. It doesn't. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/19/09 re: Ammon Hennacy quote The weapon of the weak...or the last resort of the oppressed? Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/18/09 re: Will Durant quote "...the Patriot Act followed 9-11 as smoothly as the suspension of the Weimar constitution followed the Reichstag fire." ~ Srdja Trifkovic ~ Think about it.... 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/17/09 re: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote Archer, I'm inclined to agree with you. But its going to take some serious resolve to bring it back. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/17/09 re: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote Here's an unspoken truth we might want to pass on..."Capital must protect itself in every way... Debts must be collected and loans and mortgages foreclosed as soon as possible. When through a process of law the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principle men now engaged in forming an imperialism of capitalism to govern the world. By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd." ~ J. P. Morgan The "Republic" has been dead and gone for some time now. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/17/09 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Its called "life". And the right to choose is something we should all cherish, before the "Hope and Change" crowd pre arrange our very existence for us. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/16/09 re: George Mason quote Does that mean the majority of people of the US or say, the majority of people of "Oklahoma", for example? Because if the people of a state can not change their form of government then they under an oppressive tyranny of some sort. Which might be seen as a declaration of war on state and individual sovereignty. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/16/09 re: Walter Lippmann quote Anon makes a good point. Beware the International power brokers, aka, the Bilderbergers. They are absolutely in control already. The government we vote for is irrelevant and has been for some time. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/16/09 re: George Mason quote Sorry Waff, can't agree with you. You see, I'm an American and will never agree with your (soft) Communist analysis and rationale. I'd rather be dead than live in the world you want for my children. But sinse I'm a survivor...I won'r be "volunteering" to die to make way for your New World Order anytime soon. GTH Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/16/09 re: George Mason quote The government of the day is guilty of acting in direct violation of the Constitution on a daily basis. They are quite simply out of control. Watch for gun registration to come in under a new tax law that requires you to include your guns on your tax file...so they can "tax" them. Talk about an end run around the Constitution... using an unconstitutional law to create another unconstitutional law. Next comes confiscation...and goose stepping. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/15/09 re: John Locke quote "We cannot but be astonished at the ease with which men resign themselves to ignorance about what is most important for them to know; and we may be certain that they are determined to remain invincibly ignorant if they once come to consider it as axiomatic that there are no absolute principles." ~ Frederic Bastiat Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/15/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote With the invention of the Internet, everyone has a printing press. If we are to get the attention of the people, we must use it. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/15/09 re: John V. Lindsay quote No greater excuse for tyranny has ever been given than For the Good of the People... Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/12/09 re: Abe Fortas quote How about we dissent right back to the Constitution? (minus the 16th amendment). After that, I doubt we'll see much dissent at all. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/11/09 re: Justice Hugo L. Black quote Compelling a man by law to pay his money...is extortion. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/10/09 re: John Morley quote Obama is merely the icing on the Fascist Cake of America. We've been losing our rights for decades. So Waff, I'll keep my freedom, my money and my guns...you can keep the "change". 31Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/10/09 re: Robert Welch quote People are made selfish by too much government, too much taxation. They are trained to reject freedom...according to plan. The quote stands on its own. Freedom produces wealth and allows for generosity. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/9/09 re: John G. Diefenbaker quote Wow, what a mixed bag of reviews. canada is about as free as the US is today, which is not very. We are not "free" to travel to the US anymore, now its "your papers pleez". Our health care system is like a shiny new car with a blown engine in it. It has as many horror stories as success stories and works very well as long as you don't get seriously ill. The waiting times of socialist medicare alone will kill you. I'd sure like to return to the time of Diefenbaker or better yet, the Constitution. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/8/09 re: Robert A. Heinlein quote That's just beautiful. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/5/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Thanks Mike. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/5/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote "it is only right that the larger number should decide an issue rather than the smaller number. Why is this so difficult to understand." ???? Well, its not at all difficult to understand. In fact its quite simple really. When a majority of the population is voting to get more things from the government, leaving the minority to pay for most of it...we have a non functional system of theft and corruption. I Understand. And that's why I tell people to vote Libertarian or not at all. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/5/09 re: John C. Calhoun quote The Constitution is about Union? Waffler you've out done yourself. The Constitution is about Individual Rights...State Rights...Individual Liberty...and State Liberty. Its about keeping the Fed's on a short leash. How you equate any of this to slavery is all in your mind... Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
