Governments usually end up as entities of pure evil...wrapped in flag. Then there is a revolution and the process starts over....

I love how the more simplistic (socialists) here seem to want to blame free enterprise for everything. We've never had free enterprise, and we never will as long as governments insist on being its partner and controller. In other words its parasite.

Inflation works very well as a tool of control. Affluent, educated, armed people are difficult to control aren't they? So Inflation is one in a three pronged attack on Americans by their own government.

Editor: There was another quote by another President regarding the notion that there was a presence, a power working behind the scenes that must be spoken of only in hushed tones...I wonder can you dig that one up and is it verifiable? It would go to the same idea, that there is indeed a sub rosa government and has been for a very long time.

Kennedy makes his point very well. I think what most people fail to understand is that one of the most basic rights we should be on gaurd for is the right to property. All other rights are underpinned by this most basic moral right. How? Ask yourself this, what was your first piece of property? Why, your own body of course. When a government can seize you from the street on trumped up charges under laws justified by the need for "security" you have tyranny. It follows then that that same government can take anything it wants from you. Your home, your possessions, even your children... The USA has gone a long way the wrong way. So when is the next revolution for freedom?

We need an "Administration" not a Government, "Statesmen" not Politicians. There is no reason whatsoever to trust or vote for (pretty much) any of them any more.

It does well describe all western governments at this time in history. And Waffler's point is correct. The reverse of that point is this....when you're government calls YOU a Person it is referring to the "corporate" you. The you who is government property, the you who's posessions can be disposed of almost at will by your owners...the you who can be taxed without (genuine) representation. That's what a "person" is, so always refer to yourself as an individual. Because that's what you really are. :)

And Waffler....it goes up and down like everything else because its being valued by a worthless paper currency...like everything else.
