Ken, Allyn, WA I know hundreds of people who have been stocking up for some time. And a quick check this morning puts gold and silver at some very good prices...if you can find it. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/13/08 re: Alan Greenspan quote I think the big question is: Is there any gold even left in the gold reserves? Here's a (humorous) look at Reserve Banking from Australia : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIfH0vY2ANA&eurl=http://westernstandard.blogs.com/ Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/10/08 re: Milton Friedman quote And the markets just keep sliding. Looks like the Bail Out Band Aid wasn't enough to keep the patient from bleeding to death. Will we ever learn? 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/9/08 re: John Adams quote Now, the real aim of the 'bailout / stabilization' package comes to light. The US government wants to take ownership in both healthy and failing banks. As it already owns about half the mortgages through Fannie May and Freddie Mac, now it will also own the banking sector. The methods might be more elegant than those employed by Chavez of Venezuela, but the end effect is the same, taking away private property from it's rightful owners, i.e. the shareholders, and giving it to those who are politically connected. Nice. Where does the money for the bailout come from? The Federal Reserve. How do they get it? They print it. And who are they? A private corporation founded in 1913, tasked with the management of the nations currency supply. And who owns the Federal Reserve? We don't know, nor are we allowed to know. It's a state secret. And the New York Times, that Statist Propaganda machine, makes it all sound so nice and civilized. http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/us-may-take-ownership-stake/story.aspx?guid={0AB6EE9A-D3FA-497F-9568-EC03721A2E84} This is all going to blow up soon...it has to. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/8/08 re: J. P. Morgan quote Didn't Morgan float the rumor that several of his competitor (banks) were insolvent, leading to a crash in which he picked up those banks for a song? I'm thinking 1920s / 30s. And didn't Morgan / Chase just pick up another bunch of financial company's? Seem,s like they're always right in the middle of it. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/7/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote PS...Wall Street thieves can't be Wall Street thieves wihtout getting into bed with government. That's called Fascism. Both aspects need to go away so that free enterprise can reign. A seperation of government and business you might say. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/7/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote Waffler, you don't seem very well informed about the Canadian government. We are so unbelievably stifled with government regs we might all just as well get government jobs...free enterprise here has no hope at all. And you guys are on the way to joining us in that aspect. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/7/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote "I would suggest that banking is the marvel of commerce and society, let us regulate, regulate and regulate" An advocate of the 5th plank of the Communist manifesto? 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/7/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote Had the Congress of 1913 had the foresight or the willpower to give no credence whatever to a central bank owned and run by international bankers, one with its own, not the American people's interests in mind, it would have done a great and patriotic service to the USA. The issue of currency could have been done "in house" by the US Mint and with "in house" oversight. As it is the idea that there is any oversight at all over "the Fed" is an absolutely appalling joke. This accurately called "Pit of Vipers" are the owners of America, not its servant. But now that the Neo Con, Bush, has come right out and said "The Constitution is just a damned piece of paper" I think we all know that any hope of an American Republic lies in the hands of the American people. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/7/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote Andrew Jackson was an American hero. And I wonder if this quote doesn't point us to the real cause of the Civil War...the "Emancipation of Bankers" Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/2/08 re: David Broder quote Mike, Norwalk...agreed with two thumbs up. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/2/08 re: Will Rogers quote If Statesmen are what dead politicians are known as...we need more Statesmen. (Source unknown) 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/2/08 re: David Broder quote One of the greatest illusions ever pulled was the illusion that our vote makes a difference. If we had more than two choices it just might. But for the most part we are polarized as right or left. When in fact whether you vote right wing or left wing...you are voting for the same bird. Under red or blue administrations we keep losing our rights, our property and our freedoms. So rather than voting for the lesser of two evils I say don't bother. Suppose they gave an election, and nobody came? 5 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 10/2/08 re: Thomas Sowell quote I like Thomas Sowell, very practical fellow. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/20/08 re: Joseph Sobran quote The link to Freedom to Fascism: Everyone should see this. America: Freedom to Fascism 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/19/08 re: Joseph Sobran quote Gee I must be an extremist...I wonder how long till they call me "subversive"? Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/9/08 re: Thomas Jefferson quote I don't believe for a minute that highly educated and well informed people that run for public office have any higher aspirations than to do for themselves. I do not believe for a minute that any "politician" has any noble thoughts whatsoever. I do believe that what we need are Statesmen, not politicians. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/3/08 re: Jimmy Stewart quote Gotta love Jimmy! 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/2/08 re: Simone Weil quote Individual Freedom demands Personal Responsibility. Which it seems has been missing since that woman sued McDonald's over a cup of hot coffee. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/1/08 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Great quote from TJ. Sadly the spirit of it seems to have been lost. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/1/08 re: Ronald Reagan quote Like him or not, its a worthwhile warning. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 8/29/08 re: Theodore Roosevelt quote I would equate this quote to another one by (I think) Churchill. "A Statesman thinks about the next generation, A Politician thinks about the next election." We need Statesmen, not Politicians. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 8/26/08 re: Helen Keller quote When government is the source of "security", such as surveillance and financial tracking you can bet there's an ulterior motive. Keep your guns clean. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 8/25/08 re: Eric Hoffer quote And the small minority are persecuted as "nuts" by the indoctrinated majority. Sad. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 8/22/08 re: George Orwell quote Sadly the majority of us know how bad things have gotten. But telling people in which ways and by what system their rights and money are disappearing will only earn you scorn. No one wants to know about the elephant in the room. But reality is coming to see us all soon.... Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
