Politics forms men who are corrupt and crave more power. Education forms men who think they know better how to control your life, when they can't control their own. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/12/06 re: Giovanni Miegge quote ... you seem intollerant Mike. Are you opposed to the First Amendment? Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/12/06 re: Albert Einstein quote Belief in God is faith based. Belief in science is based on facts. There will be a struggle when fact and faith collide. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/8/06 re: H. L. Mencken quote Again you missed the point. Government is a few people controlling the many. The more rules and laws they create, the less freedom people have. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/8/06 re: George W. Bush quote The "evildoers" are running our country. They ignore the Constitution, start wars to steal oil, and poke their noses into other peoples business. It's no wonder people around the world consider the US the great satan, and attack us. If we are to be truly safe, pull our troops out of every country around the world, and let them handle their own business. We are NOT the world's police! 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/8/06 re: Auberon Herbert quote Socialist bribes those on welfare to remain on welfare, taking the hard earned money of taxpayers, without needing to produce anything. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/7/06 re: Cardnial Robert Bellarmine quote It is interesting how incorrect facts sway justice to be unjust. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/7/06 re: Pope Leo XIII quote This quote makes censorship seem reasonable, but it's not. Likewise, banning some guns because of caliber, features or magazine size is unreasonable. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/6/06 re: Leon Trotsky quote Socialism is the religion of the left, as practiced by democrats. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/5/06 re: Justice Robert H. Jackson quote Being responsible for yourself is patriotic. Robert, what is not patriotic? 2 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/1/06 re: Eric Hoffer quote What powerful thought. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/31/06 re: F. Scott Fitzgerald quote Just like a liberal to deny this quote because it's the wrong type of thinking. Rather like talking about horses, and we should not talk unles it's about "big" horses. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/30/06 re: Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. quote I will seldom vote for the incumbent, in an attempt to minimize their power craze. 7 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/30/06 re: Ann Gray quote Yes, they act without consideration if what they do will have the desired results. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/29/06 re: Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoi quote Our government is becoming more cruel every day. 4 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/29/06 re: Benjamin Constant quote Our government is corrupt and could use a little rebellion. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/29/06 re: Hermann Goering quote Nazis may have been more powerful with guns, but guns did not make them wiser. 2 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/28/06 re: Thomas Jefferson quote It makes me sad to see how corrupt our government is. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/28/06 re: Cornelius Tacitus quote Unfortunately this is what happens to our politicians. Each new law is more domination over us. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/25/06 re: George Mason quote If you want to know what the founding father's meant, read The Second Amendment Primer by Les Adams. Then, Reston, you may understand the words above ARE the words of the 2nd Amendment. And I won't cower in the corner begging not to be hurt, I'll draw my concealed firearm and defend myself. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/25/06 re: U.S. Constitution, Second Amendment quote It's the "shall not be INFRINGED" part that justifies the LACK of regulations on arms. Requiring a purchase permit, registration, no large calibers, no magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, only one firearm per month, etc. are all infringements on owning arms. What part of “shall not be infringed” do YOU not understand? Even without the 2nd Amendment, the right of the people to own and carry arms is covered by the 9th and 10th Amendments. And how do you plan to get criminals to cooperate with being peaceful? Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/23/06 re: Clint Eastwood quote You can see the 'mentality' of our government in these actions. They have absolutely no tolerance for, and are willing to kill you to keep you from doing, what they don't approve of. All they had to do at Ruby Ridge or Waco was to wait. Instead they attacked people presumed innocent and killed them. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/23/06 re: Bill Clinton quote Robert, what are you doing that needs to be limited? What are you doing that will get you arrested? Do you own any weapons? Bill's quote is an example of a police state, where you may only do what the government allows. Bill's quote should scare the hell out of you. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/23/06 re: Janet Reno quote Janet Reno is obviously un-American! Jeff Snyder's quote from yesterday sums it up well. http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Jeff.Snyder.Quote.653E "But to ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow. ... For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 8/22/06 re: Jeff Snyder quote Can you find the liberal democrat among these ratings?
