Archer, Trenton, Lamb, JDoN, and Arjun, Excellent. A student wanted to know the secret of truth and he was told that a Guru who lived atop a mountain could tell him. So, the student took many days to find the mountain and many more to climb to the top. Once there he find the Guru and asked 'Master, please tell me the secret of Truth'. The Guru said 'go back and in five years visit me again and ask the same question'. Well, to cut a long story short, the student did this for many years and finally on his 7th visit to the Guru the student said in delight that he find the secret of truth, the Guru then said 'Son, when you first visited me you knew then the secret of Truth'.

Thanks Logan, and yes, you have proved my point too: you are trying to tell me that when someone kills another human being they don't know in their heart that it is wrong, balderdash, poppycock, etc. we have a conscience and decide not to use it, that is the difference between right and wrong. Saddam, Hitler, Bush, etc. all knew darn well they were wrong in their actions but did because of power and greed - do not make the excuse that they don't know the difference just because you don't know -- read some of the war letters and you will understand my point of view. Read Wilfred Owen, a great WW1 poet 'Dulce et Decorum Est'. Even Mohammed knew the difference in his quote: "The ink of a scholar is more sacred than the blood of the martyr." While we continue this indifference between right and wrong we will remain as shadows on the walls of caves. Have a great Thanksgiving, Robert P.s

Logan and Mike, really... it's rhetorical; it’s meant to come from your conscience and your heart – look and you will understand. As for Bush and his crony’s they have lead us down the path of self-destruction - a $9 trillion blow-job and the loss of thousands of lives, the destruction of cities, and the dollar on the slide - wow! let me think which I prefer... Clinton or Bush? Freedom and liberty have NOTHING to do with Christ - when will we be responsible for our own actions. Liberty and Freedom is there regardless of religion - Religion has abused its position in society and is totally out of control as is shown in its continual hypocrisy.

RobertSRQ

Hypocrisy is perhaps the most egregious sin of all as it the shield in which the wicked and the greedy retreat behind – it is also the weapon of choice for the current political administration as there is no better shield than the White House. Hypocrisy is the bedfellow of the religious right and their political allies.

In the right place at the right time honor, and honorably executed, is indeed a fine virtue

It's actually easier to do the right thing if you are used to doing it -- it may be painful but the other way is more so.

RobertSRQ

Yes, sadly, this only solves half the problem - the other half is the cause of wars

RobertSRQ

The truth that makes men free is the truth they are blind to - the truth that men wish to hear is the truth they want to hear. Your heart and conscience are the arbiters of truth.

Indeed! put you resources into intelligence and not bombs

If only we did that in New Orleans and the stories are many... Greed gets in the way of being wise.

If all laws were good laws I would agree - Laws are confused with justice - we should fight for what's right.

Freedom of Speech is paramount to the Liberty of a Nation but it must be practiced without retribution, either by government or society.

Bush's misdeeds don't even come close to Clinton’s consensual sexual romp. I really think we are truly sick as a nation when our President who is responsible for killings thousands along with other criminal deeds and daily reports of GOP leaders being caught with their pants down; putting us into a $9trillion debt and gas prices the highest they have ever been, and the list goes on and on. And we still discuss Clinton in the same breath as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and their cohorts – we really have our head in the sand…

RobertSRQ

The inclination must be there before they can think freely and before that happens they must indulge

RobertSRQ

Yes, right on, perhaps the Bush administration should have this emblazoned on White House T-shirts

...and one is that this planet is on a self-destruct mode without any sight of the abort switch - another may be, why does America create/support dictatorships?

Those pillars are obviously not what holds up the White House.

The oldest offensive in the world; you accuse those of what you are doing - bait and switch - humans will never change. Definitions are provided by the victors. In the absolute a Rose is a Rose but we don't live in the absolute.
