What is your proposal Carlton to pay off 10 trillion dollars of US Debt.

Waffler, Smith

Some things never change. The fact that we survived this doom and gloom under the Articles and have survived it for decades under the Constitution means we will survive it now. Have faith people, have faith. On the other hand it gets tiring knowing of the failure of the government and yes of We The People to run a better financail house. Let us rise up and demand that our debts be paid, taxes increased until the debts our paid and then demand a massive tax reduction. We owe to the future.

Thoughtful and insightful words.

Don't be stupid Logan. When you deposit money into a bank you are making an investment on which they pay interest, just like when you buy stock. The purpose of the bank management on the corporate board of your stock company, be it a factory or for that matter a bank is to earn a net profit from which they can pay you dividends. All your and Archer's talk about sythentics is just bullshit. I am sorry to be so graphic but if I had a hammer maybe I could hammer it into you guys. You will never figure anything out Logan and a hammer to you and Archer's heads is what I think is required.

Waffler, Smith

Yes Logan it is an intellectual crime. Does the word intellect have any meaning for you. Saying or swallowing when you hear it "the US is a republic not a democracy" is a great example of an intellectual crime.

I repeat Warren some day there will just be one family per continent and you can have your way with the world or at least with your continent. In the mean time and in between time we are going to have to have a little bit of cooperation among the 6 billion of us on this little sphere.

Okay but what a bunch of bull these quotes are today!

Urban Kohler I feel certain the man is taken out of context. Again I repeat a bank has deposits and loans, no depostis no loans, no loans or investments then they would have to return the deposits. If a bank is unable to make investments (e.g. loans) it has no reason to exist and should return its deposits to the depositors.

Waffler, Smith

True but shallow and misleading and terribly stated. Of course if all the loans were paid and no one was borrowing the banks would have to reduce their saivings deposit interest rate to zero. Every one would then take their deposits out of the bank. Banks are just a clearing house for neighbors who have to much and neighbors who don't have enough. It is true but wriiten to be scraps for dogs.

Being ignorant is no crime Carlton, being stupid and thinking that others who do know something are therefore conspiring is a horse of a different color.

You are slick Mike. I just said that I paid $30 federal reserve notes for it 20 or so years ago. I make you a deal due to inflation send me $300 "silver dollars" and you pay the postage and you get my candelabra. If Federal Reserve Notes are so worthless why are you so stingy parting with them.

Waffler, Smith

The point is clear that there will always be conspiracy nuts in the public arena. This guy said this in 1920 or so and some on this site are still saying it today. Conspiracy theorists are simply guys who do not know what they are talking about. It is like Steve Martin in the movie "The Jerk" when he learned that his name was in the phone book he thought he was somebody. Conspiracy theories are borne out of the fact that one is ignorant of things or facts. Just because you do not know something does not mean that it is a secret. You just are uneducated about that issue, fact or history. I mean really get a life.

Man has always dreamed of "one world government". This dream is what inspires man and men to strike out and impose or bring their organizational skills upon others. Thus Talleyrand, Ghengis Khan, Alexander etcetera in the old days. The Universal Chruch of Rome, and Protestant Missionaries in these latter days. The concept of prosyletizing is nothing new and nor is the dream of one world government. It will continue to be a dream, man wants to be at one, most religion is predicated on the idea of unity under one true god. Communication and travel and the computer is enabling this to happen at a faster and faster rate. Not to worry those of you who detest the facts of life the planet and its inhabitants will be utterly destroyed one day by either Yellowstone blowing up, a massive meteor or the burning out of the son. The thing will start all over again (history will repeat itself) in the mud and ooze and you right wing fanatics will again have your lack of cohesion and unity that you so much admire.

I don't know about its' purity but it tarnishes. Our silver dollars have no silver at all, at least they do not tarnish.

Waffler, Smith

PS: I have a five candle candelabra that is silver. It is a filthy metal that tarnishes easily. I know because I just polished it yesterday. I think I paid $30 dollars for it 20 years ago. Silver ain't worth all that much anymore.

The USD was defined the coinage act of 1792 to be 371-416 grains of silver. Since 1977 to the present the US "Silver" Dollar consists of 88.5% Copper, 6% Zinc, 3.5% Manganese, 2% Nickel. So it is fair to say that the "silver" dollar is not a dollar either. I have not found where the definition has legally been changed. The term dollar was used before 1792 for various coins. The US Dollar be it "sliver" or four quarters or a piece of paper is the official currency of six countries mostly in Latin American and the Carribbean, it is the de facto or preferred currency in five other nations. I hope this helps. If any ya'all want to get rid of any I can tell you a place you can send them.

Hogwash! Money is money! It matters not if it is cheap metal or expensive paper.

Andrew Jackson is considered the founder of the "modern" democratic party after Jefferson. He united the Southern and Western parts of the country against the Whig entrenched money interests of the North and East. The money interests then fell in with the Republicans to reclaim their stranglehold on the nation after the war using Grant as their stepping stone to complete their political and economic power grab during the so called Southern Reconstruction in which the region was treated worse than was Germany and Japan after those wars with the US. They then institutted the Gilded Age from 1870's to 1900's an age of gold (for the rich) and pooverty for the rest of the country. Sort of like what happened during the 20 years of Reagan and Bushes. Now maybey Obama can return us to the politics of Andrew Jackson.

Waffler, Smith

I guess we would be better off not having a Federal Reserve and Board of Governors etcetera. Just let the sitting President run the money system. Sort of like an Argentine economic system. Central Banking around the globe is a recognition that economics is or should be somewhat divorced from the day to day functioning of the governmental processes. It should protect everyone form political passions and provide a long term measure of stability to the economy. It does that better than a strong man system where politics and economics are in lock step.

The rights of mankind is to have his own free and open opinion on any issue. Since these opinions and views may change from time to time and from man to man and generation to generation the republican form of government, which is "power to the people" ergo democracy, gives this eternal right of supremacy of the individual to express his view and to have them incorporated into the body politic and that is why Jefferson is spot on. Nothing is more important than the right of the individual. The republican form of govenment maintains this eternal democratic right.

PS: Much of it bought by good ole Tom hisself and divided up later.

Mexico is expanding its Federal Authority to fight the drug cartels. You guys detest or want to devolve federal authority and I assume let drugs, mafia, etcetera reign supreme in these 50 contiguous regions. I suggest we just forget about the border lines between the reigions and just call this one land. Heck most of it was purchased by the entity called the USA located on the Potomac River and then it was chopped all up to form these local regions. Let us just have one happy united land. As Lennon taught us "imagine".

Waffler, Smith

South Korea is going stronger, in case you have not heard! Their was never a mandate to "finish" the war. The American mission was to protect the South from the Northern aggressor, not to take over the entire penninsula. And that is what we did. Your history is srewed up Archer. I served in Korea from '65 to '66.

Waffler, Smith

Stalin is dead, his statues torn down. Lenin has been removed from his Red Square Tomb, the Soviet Union is no more. Come guys get out of the Cold War, There must be something more to live for than fighting over again the battles of the past that freedom and democracy under US leadership have already won. Somthing more in life that is for everyone except poor Archer and Jim who obviously have nothing going for them.

Waffler, Smith

Rarick was just another hick politician with the Archer Syndrome, fear and jealousy of anyone who is knowledgeable and thus in a position of influence on any given issue. Hip shooters are every where but they seldom last long due to their own ignorance and stupidity. Like I said about Rarick, I double it for Archer. What do you expect from thinking men like these?
