So Anon what is LMAO.

Mike I am saying what I am saying and nothing more or nothing less. All the crap you tried to add or infere is in the labryinth of your twisted conspiratorial brain.

Anon if income tax collections were increased by a combination of rate hikes, increased enforcement to close the 300 billion dollar tax gap (the estimated amount that The Treasury is cheated out of each year) and spending cuts then The Treasury could pay off the bond holders. After all many of the bond holders are just folks that received large tax cuts under Bush and then bought interest paying Government Bonds instead. It is just a transfer payment Anon Use the increase in taxes to pay off the bonds. As far as the economy is concerned it is a neutral transaction, 1 dollar of tax, pays off 1 of bond. The big difference is that the Treasury no longer has to pay interest and we will no longer be beholden to China, Russia and the rich.

Gee whiz! I only posed a question following Jeffersons line as to how we control institutions to whom we give money. Are corporations to be free of the peoples oversight. Government is to be controlled but corporations have free reign to run anything the way they wish. Glad I fired you guys up even if your responses seem to come from feelings and emotions rather than intellect or knowledge. It only stands to reason that we should have oversight over government and we do via elections, oversight over cororporations is required also.

Yes Tony D we need to think long term. And that means to me we must be honest and honorable people right now and pay our debts. We send our youth to the Middle East to die but we did not have the courage to pay for it. We have incurred debt for 20 or more of the last 28 years. It is time we STAND up like adults and demand that the debts be paid and then the taxes cut. Short term views on finance and the environment have all caused us problems.

I like your Aristotelian comments Logan saying "Democracy is rule of the many" and "Republicanism is rule of the many". I have been saying this to you for years and your never seemed to get. A republic and a democracy are both "rules of the many" one and the same thing.

You don't get it Ken, it is you who are calling them "intellectuals" in a pejorative sense. There is such a think as intellect and there are people who are trained and knowledgable on various and sundry topics. You are setting up a straw man for you to have someone to blame for everything.

Wow good eye Anonymous. The Duke was given credit for a lot of stuff that probably was not his. But intellect, that is knowledge of facts and truth, as you have shown here is so important. Many operate not on facts but on feelings and emotion. They bewail and berate the "intellectual class" (those who have knowledge and facts) in favor of a dumbed down conversation which ignores facts and promotes feelings and emotional responses. Nice movie line though so I will give it a three.

Thank God it has never happened here. Obviously enough sustenance has not been extracted or we would not be 10 trillion dollars in debt. Why can not honest and honorable men and women admit that the American People owe a debt from the general fund (income tax fund) to 1. Social Security Fund 1.5 trillion, 2. Chineese 1 trillion, 3. To public holds of Fed Bonds 1 trillion, 4. Russia 800 billion, etcetera. All figures are estimates but I hope you all get the picture. We have been sending our children to die in the Middle East and have borrowed the money to pay for the associated costs. Just how dishonorable can we be. Let us stand up and demand this immorality stop and let us pay our debt off and then cut taxes.

and who controls the profits and the money we pour into world wide corporations when we buy their products. They are less within our reach than any elected government is. It is these huge corporations than are can do anything they wish without popular oversight.

I first used the word "intellectual" Elizabeth and then Ken jumped on it. Yes it is unfortunate but words do matter. I don't think the word has to be used in a pejorative sense. Intelligent relates to intellect. Intellect refers to the power of knowing rather than to the power of feeling and emotion. Dealing with government based on feeling and emottion on issues like global warming, emigration etc rather than on intellect (knowledge) is not beneficial.

I was given a copy of "Creature from Jekyll Island" on Sunday. Biggest bunch of garbage I have ever read. No wonder you like it Carlton. The guy who wrote it is a Certified Financail Planner, wow, wow, wow! I am sure that impressed you. The meeting was not secret. The guy proudly claims to have a conspiracy theory of history so everything has some spooky reason for it. I guess you like that kind of stuff. You guys should confer with some colleges or universities of Finance, Business or Banking rather than read anything anyone writes.

NOTE: To Ken and Mike, I made a rejoinder to your comments of Friday the 13th relating to the Daniel Webster quote and "intellectuals". Please read.

Waffler, Smith

Ken you are the one using the pejorative against others calling people at your will intellectuals or not as a term of insult. Einstein and computer nerds and people in political think tanks everywhere do not see themselves or call themselves "intelletuals". They see their pursuits and endeavors as normal and they play ball or fish on their time off also. I suggest your pejorative is a dumbing down of America.

Waffler, Smith

We must stand up as honorable and honest men and women and deal with this. If we do not pay our national debt we are corrupt. You can't run the National Budget in the red as did Reagan Bush and Cheney did for most of their terms.

Waffler, Smith

And yet we still prosper with more millionaires and billionaires than ever. Apparently the income tax rate has little to do with socialism or confiscatorism. Americans prosper very well. The rich whoever they are still know how to get money from the poor whoever they are.

Waffler, Smith

Typical political speak. What does the phrase "absolutely required" mean. Taxes are paid under law, they are due or not due based on the law. If they will contribute to a surplus one could argure that they are not "absolutiely necessary" and thus and thus not pay them. This would be a miscarriage of the law. Income tax is of course based on success, if one has no success then he does not have to pay a tax. Coolidge has the cart ass backwards. It would appear that he would not tax success but somehow reward the unsucessful who the hell knows how? This sounds like Charlatan talke to me. Taxes are not to destroy the successful or to help the unsuccessful but to finance public works and projects determined to be required by the people through their government.

Thiought provoking. what!

TRUE and the Congress and The President and their policies are our responsibility. Let us stand up and demand that they raise taxes, cut spending, balance the budget and pay off the debt in twenty years. There is more than enough money in our pockets, wealth in this country to do what ever we need to do. What we need is honorable and honest people to rise up like adult men and women and demand that this government run a surplus to offset the deficits that we have failed to fund for 20 of the last 28 years. Shame on us it is our fault. If we are silly enough to vote for people who cut taxes and sell bonds and operate in the red it is our fault. We have elected snake oil salesmen for much to long of a time.

Basically true and I find it so wonderful what government does with the money and a true blessing. The wonderful highways that we have in this country. Yesterday I was driving along the Rio Grande and taking pictures of the Fence being built. What a marvel of political will. The things of society like parks, street lights and everything else is a blessing and joy to our lives. Thank God for government and society that brings such good things to us. Did I mention our brave men and women in uniform who must be paid!

This quote said nothing about who is taking the money out of or whose pocket. Money is taken by every shyster that comes down the road. Ho do you think the rich get rich if it is not by taking money out of your pocket in the form of high prices, profits and cornering the market on the things that you want!

Waffler, Smith

Money left in pockets is useless. Money is good for only one thing okay maybe two: spending and investing. Maybe we get people to keep their money in their pocket and just sit at home in their rocking chairs until we all die. Circulating money is the driver of the economy and of peoples lives and activity. Without activity we might as well all just be dead. What a stupid quote and so sad so many fall for such shallow stupidity!

Archer I am no wanna be opinion maker. I just state my truth and analyse correctly and you think it's hell.
