Goes to the core meaning of the concept, 'religion'.

jim k, Austin, Tx

From a Deist, not a Christian.

E Archer, NYC

Yes! The horrors committed in the name of religion are the primary reasons for 'unbelievers.'

Mike, Norwalk

jim ? Many sects of Christianity are Deists. Jefferson was tagged a non-Christian because he didn't believe in the standard version of the day of ex nihilo (making something out of nothing) and the Trinity. He may have been a card carrying Deist Christian too ?

jim k, Austin, Tx

Mike, Christian is a generic term meaning different things to different people. Some benighted souls think that you have to accept belief in the virgin birth, miracles, Jesus dying for sin the resurrection and so on or you are headed for hell and you aren't a Christian. It's going to be mighty lonesome "up there" for these saints.
